Mellow Music Group is probably one of the best doing it right now, if not THE best. Their latest compilation of music from it’s artists is called, Self Sacrifice. It features tracks from yU, Gensu Dean, Apollo Brown, Black Milk, Kenn Starr, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Hassaan Mackey and many many more. This track from Oddisee is also featured and can be downloaded for free by visiting their bandcamp page.
This is the lead track from producer Jaq’s album Escape From Radio Prison, whichdropped on March 13th. It features Jaq’s production paired with the vocal talents of Theory Hazit, ManChild (Mars Ill), Dizzy Dustin (Ugly Duckling), Cas Metah, JustMe, Sivion, Sintax The Terrific, Homeboy Sandman, and more. You can purchase the album by clicking on one of the links below. There is no shortage of that raw hip hop here, you won’t be disappointed.
Cop
I’ll never know the plight of Trayvon, being guilty because of the skin you are in. The entire story disgusts me just the same. To take someone’s life away from them, away from their family, away from their friends. It’s the most disgusting and heinous act imaginable. A life entirely lost due to the mental ineptitude of a belligerent want to be police officer, who was allowed to take a position of authority AND he was allowed to carry a fire arm. The citizen’s seemed to have no trouble with this before this happened, he was protecting their white neighborhood, and their white lives and freedoms, right? But, what about Trayvon’s rights? His freedoms? His freedom’s mattered less didn’t they? They didn’t matter to George Zimmerman, listen to the 911 call from Zimmerman here……but I warn you it’s pretty gut wrenching……let this be understood, this coward was not a police officer. He is a citizen, PERIOD. The fact he is not in jail right now is disgusting. The Department of Justice has stepped in to investigate the case as a possible hate crime……possible……right……because even to the DOJ, a young black male is presumed guilty until PROVEN innocent…..Oh and not sharing this video on your “Hip Hop” blog is BS, if I visit your site and see an effin picture of Machine Gun Kelly but you can’t put this up, get the hell outta here……..apparently you are smoking your own dope boy…….
Captain Beefheart & Frank Zappa in perfect tune with one another,……musical genius…..taken from the album Hot Rats, this was the only vocal track on the entire album. Check out Captain Beefheart’s worthy cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Evil Goin On” below
At the official listening party for PyInfamous & Sam I Am The Son’s album Final Discussion, Street Official sits down and talks with the Coldest emcee about the concept of the album. The album is crazy and will be available on March 30th, so be sure to check it out. I still hear this Angry Bird x Fional Discussion remix……call me crazy……
