Pete Rock struck gold when he discovered this little ditty from MR Tom Scott, I swear when that Sax plays, I loss my mind every single time……one of them days……
Remember when you were a kid and you raced home after school to watch cartoons. Afternoon reruns of the morning cartoons that maybe you missed getting ready for school? Remember getting held up and arriving home later than normal and getting stuck watching the half hour cheesy, moral laced show about the kid down the street who’s getting high after school and the consequences of said activities? This isn’t that kind of afternoon special, believe you want to see this. SHouts to Morningbell Records
Theory Hazit dropped his album Thr3e, on Humble Beast records and it is a doozy….I think if you like raw untapped music that could have easily come from the Boom-Bap era, then you’ll love this album. Go pick it up and see for yourself. This is a good enough introduction to what you can expect from the project
I am not an advocate for violence, however, live by the sword and you die by the same sword. Careful the company you keep, I’m just sayin’. 40 Glocc and them already showed you the gangster pedigree of Lil DeWayne….. Don’t get me wrong, NO is known for true to life gangsters, but Lil DeWayne and Drake? Gangsters don’t dress like this
That DAMN Skull Snaps LP, and the Marvin Gaye, Jazz Crooner album…….
Saafir, the Oakland California spitter, released his debut album, Boxcar Sessions via Qwest Records back in 1994….before the Golden State Warriors project with Ras Kass and Xzibit, which would have been a killer album had it come out…..
Production handled by the hardest working man in showbiz, Statik Selektah….
Back in ’99, D’Angelo was the king of this thing they called Neo-Soul. He could do no wrong, his album’s Brown Sugar & Voodoo were classics and his music was celebrated by the masses as well as the musical nerds. He appeared on Chris Rock’s show and equipped with a young Anthony Hamilton on back up, tore the roof off the mother. The track “Chicken Grease” appeared on Voodoo and was written by D, Questlove, and James Poyser…..enjoy
