If you like funk music and you don’t know this song, then you don’t like Funk music and if you’re like me, this song instantly changes your entire perspective on the day. I’m sitting here listening to Questlove’s crazy Bonaroo jam and hearing D’Angelo do his best Johnny Watson, is incredible. This is Joss Stone at her finest, I don’t know what it is about her that makes her put more into the songs she covers than her original material. This is the first single from her upcoming album The Soul Sessions Vol 2, dropping soon. A well-done cover of the Chi-Lites’ song. She’s also slated to cover songs from The Honey Cones, Sylvia, The Dells, and more, on the album. Much in the same vain as the original Soul Sessions Vol 1, which won her so much critical acclaim. I’m excited to hear her rendition of the Casinos hit song “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye”……
