Herbie’s 5th album Maiden Voyage, was released in 1965 on Blue Note records. Herbie enlisted the help of Ron Carter, Freddie Hubbard, George Coleman and Tony Williams. The album centers around a oceanic scene, and spawned several jazz standards. It’s one of those albums that from beginning to end is an incredible work of art, like most if not every Hancock led album. So sit back, and listen, take yourself on a aquatic adventure captained by Herbie and his cohorts.
