THE DELLS – LOVE IS BLUE / I CAN SING A RAINBOW

On a recent digging escapade in Northern Miss, I came up on The Dells Love is Blue album, the album is pretty dope front to back. It starts off with the often sampled title track, also referred to as “I Can Sing a Rainbow”. It has been used by everyone from Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, 9th Wonder, Blu & Exile, and more. Enjoy some hip-hop history and get some soulful experience while you’re at it.

Dee-1, repping N.O., is slowly building a name for himself as a serious talent. He has himself a DJ Drama tape, hosted by, the New Orleans OG and Dee-1’s biggest supporter, Mannie Fresh. That mixtape titled the Focus Tape, will be  dropping on October 9th. I was hoping for a contribution in the form of a verse from Mr Bey, but he only added some adlibs at the end of the track. I’m cool with that too. Dee-1 certainly hold the weight up on the track…..
