Los Angeles based Piecelock 70, is an unique music production company headed up by Thes One (People Under The Stairs). Their approach is simple, produce the music, put the music out and let the artists eat. Which allows the artists to continue to make music. This release, Junk Drawer Vol 1 is a nice collection of tracks from Headnodic, see Crown City Rockers if the name isn’t familiar, the name should suggest what this project is. It’s a collection of tracks which were placed in the “junk” drawer in Headnodic’s studio. Pretty nice to know that I can’t even hum a tune correctly and people like Headnodic has this kind of stuff floating around in space.
The release is free digitally and if you are a vinyl head then you can pick up a limited edition purple vinyl copy via the links below. It is limited to 250 pieces so hurry, it probably will not last long.

As producer of Crown City Rockers, The Mighty Underdogs and various side projects, Headnodic remains in the studio creating music that spans a variety of genres and styles yet stays rooted in the undeniable, classic era of hip hop. With that much creative output, sometimes beats can simply slip through the cracks, half finished and forgotten, locked away in a junk drawer never to see the light of day. And while Headnodic may have easily forgotten about these, the 26 intertwined beats of Junk Drawer Vol.1 meld into a masterpiece more than worthy of release – it is downright dope.We at PL70 are very proud to present Junk Drawer in a recycled chipboard sleeve with custom artwork by Boston native Moe Pope and manufactured in Burbank, Ca. The Vinyl is hand drawn in El Segundo, Ca with an Opaque Purple swirl color combination formulated by Thes One. The pressing is limited to 250 units and will not be re-issued.
This project also represents a new direction for Piecelock 70.
