I’ve never had my hair cut or been shaven by some cat in Evisu jeans. The guy looks like when he’s off work, he scours the city alleyways for unsuspecting innocent kids to school in the ways of the naginata. I bet he’s a master of several different martial art disciplines. The project came about with the Japanese Selvedge denim company Evisu and Wonderland Magazine to bring atten………you know what…..I’ll let them explain it better….It’s a pretty slick video, that’s my contribution…..
Wonderland Magazine has teamed up with Japanese selvedge denim specialists EVISU on a short film titled “The Barber.” In a nod to the Coen Brothers’ The Man Who Wasn’t There, the film draws inspiration from a timeless, luxurious kind of cool while showcasing EVISU’s latest collection. Like their premium denim, the film represents a return to doing simple things exceptionally well. This season sees a less logo-driven look for the brand with more emphasis on new fits and detailing, captured perfectly in “The Barber.”
Ferg is cool, but I’m not 100% how I feel about all this. BUTTTTT, Busta Bus….killed this so HEARRRRRR you goooooo….
It’s Black Friday EVERY Friday. With production from Black Spade (who else could it be) from Hawthorne Headhunters, this track will certainly take you back to those grimy hip-hop days.
What’s Christmas without you? A Dis, that’s what Christmas is without you….
Produced, Written, Performed, Conceptualized, Dreamed up, executed and published by Black Spade, about the only thing he didn’t do was the artwork…that was the Infamous Jeanclaude.
Here are some shoes dropping this month….meh….the Concept x SB Ugly Sweater will be hard to get, for some reason….it’s hideous as it should be. Aside from the Cortez Frees and the BAIT x Saucony Shadow, I’m good. I do like the Jordan I (Banned) but I got my pair already so I’m straight…..
The second single off Harn Solo’s Picture Perfect album. Production by Prospek & CZA (Crescent Kingz) and Caliobzvr provides vocal assistance. This track paints a perfect picture of the New Orleans landscape for me. The video captures some great visuals from the Crescent City..
Danny Brown is and always will be DAT DUDE.
“Danny was my longshot for this project. By the time I got moving on this he’d already signed with Fool’s Gold and was about to drop XXX, which would establish him as one of the fiercest MC’s out. I emailed and DM’d to no avail. One day I decided to try something really crazy and picked up the phone and called him. The stars were aligned and a rapper actually answered his phone. In all of two minutes he agreed to cut a track. I emailed him a .zip of beats I’d culled from the homies and about a week later I got a sendspace link entitled “SWEENY SONG.” He had taken a Mndsgn beat and absolutely ripped it to shreds. It’s been so long since he cut it that it now sounds like vintage Danny to me, which of course I love. I fixed the typo in the title and ran with it.”
Buff 1 aka Jamall Bufford drops something fresh from his upcoming album Victim of A Modern Age (12/10/13) being released on Mello Music Group. Bass heavy production from Slot-A, while Buff displays his vocal prowess.
Oakland based hip-hop duo, The Coup, released their album Sorry To Bother You and like any respectable music group, they are still promoting it. This time with a video for the track “Long Island Iced Tea, Neat” which features Punk group Japanther. The song talks specifically about the Occupy Oakland experience that front man Boots Riley was a intricate part of. The director, Kelly Gallagher, pays homage to Trayvon Martin and Oscar Grant in the video displaying photos of the subsequent rallies as well as some cleverly placed skittles and arizona iced tea footage.
