They got Dr. Eddie Henderson to perform “You’ll Know When You Get There” from Mwandishi. Something else is great too, they recorded it so they could share with the world. enjoy……

The Solids are a band from Montreal who signed with Fat Possum Records in November of 2013. Through support from sites like Pitchfork, they have created a nice little buzz for themselves. Their debut album, Blame Confusion is being released on February 18th, and is available now for pre-order (links below). Xavier Germain-Poitras (guitar) and Louis Guillemette grew up on alt rock groups like Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. and it’s obvious when listening to them. Not in a bad way, but you can hear infusion of those influences in their style. Pardon the pun, but these guys are quite solid as displayed on “Haze Away” which is the first track from the album. Maybe I’m just a sucker for distortion and melancholy, i dunno….

I usually don’t care too much for hybrid shoes, but what I do like are older silhouettes with new technology. This is exactly why, the Trainer SC gets beefed up in a big way for 2014. Everything has been enhanced, Hyperfuse base material, 180 air tech, and lunar support system. All this and they kept the look and feel of the original. There is no word on the official release date, but these are purchased, I’m going to have to excuse myself from my iDs only claim for 2014 for this one.

Fresh off the heels of dropping the best video of a young 2014 with Zo! and Phonte, Eric Roberson lets loose the first single from his B-Sides, Features & Heartaches project he’s releasing on February 4th. “Anymore” is quintessential E. Roberson, honest rhythm and blues for the Soulquarian generation. Looking forward to the collaborative effort from him and Phonte coming in 2015.
Curtis and the gang want you to know, that a train to Jordan is coming and you should be ready. So act accordingly people.
