Producer Wes Pendleton has released his fourth instrumental project today. Pendleton branches out from the traditional soulful and gritty sound to a more electro/synth feel. It works beautifully as the one thing that is not missing is the Philly bred producer’s own soul. This project has his touch all over it. That is what you like to see from a producer. Anyone can go out and emulate the feel of another artist’s project, but expressing yourself no matter what the genre/sound/style is, that is what separates good artists from excellent artists in my book. Refined, is 6 tracks and the only problem is it leaves you wanting so much more. Which is the case with all of Wes’ projects, once they end they always leave me wanting more. There are worse things I suppose, at least I don’t have to bother flipping the tape over once the last song ends.
