I applaud the love but let’s get something straight, not every rapper, especially the Caucasian ones, need to be compared to Macklemore. I’ll step away from where that conversation can go and just say this. Playdough has been doing this for a long time, and if anything he’s provided the blueprint for Macklemore’s happy go lucky rap style, without the all the pop edge. “You Ain’t Fresh” is about as hip-hop as one can get, shout out to Koncept from the Brown Bag All-Stars who makes a Mark Jackson type of assist to the track.
