Before he was the man, Aloe Blacc was the best kept secret in the Los Angeles underground scene. In 2004/2005 he recorded a spanish version of John Legend’s “Ordinary People”, complete with an ode to Stevie Wonder, which is what caught my attention then. I’ve only heard it a couple of times and both times it was digitally. Well fast forward to last Wednesday and while attending a local Vinyl Record night, DJ Sandpaper pulled the vinyl out and proceeded to knock me out my seat. It’s a great version, and a must have for everyone.
