The Windy City has been produced a plethora of emcees and lately we have seen an influx in up and comers from the Chi. Tossing his Whitesox fitted into the ring is Goody, who just released a freestyle over Black Metaphor’s”Rich is Gangsta” track. Also, check out his debut single “All I Know” from his forthcoming album 21 (To Anyone).

On May 20th, Kwabs’ Pray For Love EP, will be available. Powerful and touching visuals for the title track were released today. You can get an early preview of one of the tracks from the album titled “Brother” for free if you Shazam the video. Kwabs has a great voice and he bares his soul vocally. His music is commanding and beautiful. Be sure to check out more of his music by clicking here
Reflection Music Group has released the video for Chad Jones‘ “Problem” featuring Canon and Propaganda from his album Keep Up. The video was apparently shot at the Mini-Golf Open, which I assume is pretty much the US Open of the Mini-Golf circuit. Black Knight, known for his work with Lecrae and Andy Mineo , handled the production. Unfortunately, Propaganda couldn’t make the video shoot, so you’re going to have to download the EP via iTunes to get the full version of the track. In his place we get a sneak peek at another track from the album “I Know”. They did play off Prop’s absence pretty well though.
Have you ever listened to a song and on the first listen it reached out of the speakers and grabbed you by your inner essence? Regardless if you say yes or no, you will now want to press play on the track below here. Mackenzie is a singer/song writer from Los Angeles, California and after listening to only two songs from him I feel confident in stating that he is AMAZING. “Sweet Communion” begins stripped down and melodic and builds slowly into something both poetic and grandiose. Produced by Monte Neuble and Tim Stewart and written by Mackenzie this is not going to leave your listening device anytime soon.
Oh Genius is a producer from the United Kingdom with diversity in his production styles. Lost In A Dream displays several different sounds and features equally diverse vocal appearances. “Dis So Funky Man” featuring Sky Blew and “I’m Out” with Ellis rapping and both tracks feature singer Shannon Ramsey providing melodies and support on the hooks. The former is an ode to The Whispers if you did not know immediately, I should not have to explain that. While the latter is a little darker and has a more dramatic sound. The stark differences in the two songs is indicative of the rest of the album. Download it and decide for yourself though.
This song is dedicated to….well to everyone. We all know someone like this, it could be our significant other, or it could not be. From Larry Graham’s unmistakable bass lines to Betty’s signature growl, this is an incredible record. Betty’s self titled debut is probably my favorite of hers. She takes an honest approach to the love song, making a strong case for not falling in love.
Asics does things a little different with their newest colorway of the GT-II, opting for some more earthy tones than the usual summer bright color schemes. Can’t say that I blame them, these are fresh and they look so buttery. Might have to track me down some of these. Wish Asics had a customization program.
One thing can be said for certain, Mysonne speaks his mind. I have not always liked his music, agreed with his tactics, or whatever but respect the man. What he spits here over the “Royals” beat is nothing short of truth. Between this and the Trinidad James situation he’s making the right moves with me. Say what you will, I don’t care.
Anticipating the release of his upcoming aptly titled mixtape Embalming Fluid, Bronx MC, Breeze Embalm, unleashes “Fresh Pepper”. A headnodder comes complete with a catchy hook and Breeze riding the mess out the beat. Grab it now, cause this track serves as an appetizer only and will not show up on the actual mixtape when it drops.
