Fat Joe da Gangsta known today simply as Fat Joe dropped his debut album Represent on Relativity Records back in ’93. He had been working with his fellow D.I.T.C. crew members before then. “Flow Joe” was his lead single produced by Diamond D. It’s almost unfair for an artist to have all those dope producers at his disposal. Joe crafted two very solid albums and distributed them through Relativity Records, dropping Jealous Ones Envy in ’95. Apparently there was a difference of opinion about some particulars with Joe’s distribution deal and he was unhappy with some numbers. So he took his Terror Squad label elsewhere. After some pictures and assurances were made in a certain CEO’s office at Relativity Records they had no problem getting released from their deal. He moved to Atlantic taking Pun and Cuban Linx with him and the rest is as they say history.
