I will always be a golden era head, which usually means new cats get categorized in one of two places. Either in the garbage bin or in the “meh” bend. There are times when a new artist or group makes an impact on me and instantly gets placement on an iTunes playlist or 3. I present to you the duo of producer Elbe Kim and emcee Justo. Hailing from the Rotten Apple, the chemistry between these two is great. Every so often a producer/rapper duo click on a level which makes everything sound effortless and timeless at the same time. Even less often than that they form a group and release an album/project together. Elbe and Justo are the latter. With a name like FlySeoul, I admit I had some high hopes. I digs the name. The beats are all headnodders and Justo is a very capable lyricist. “On & On”, “Discipline”, and “Back Against The Wall” are the instant standouts, but the whole mixtape goes. It feels good to be able to press play and let the whole thing ride. I’m definitely looking forward to more music from this duo and I think you will agree with me on this one.
