When Rick Ross dropped back in the day everyone on the planet that knew, knew, Rick Ross (William Roberts) stole his whole persona from Freeway Ricky Ross. The street legend Ricky Ross was incarcerated at the time and William ran wild with it, making millions upon millions while never even showing respect. He never even tried to offer monetary compensation for the jack move. When Freeway Ricky was finally freed from prison he went about trying to correct this wrong. However, the judicial system backed the corporately backed William Roberts. So the real Rick went on a mission to find himself a legitimate talent to step to Ross lyrically. Now via Grind City Music and Rick Ross Music Group he has located in Richmond VA one Big Sty. An emcee who is not afraid to tell it like it is, through out “Can’t Buy Your Way Into Heaven” he calls out Rick’s misdeeds one by one. From the prison guard incident to his blatant ripoff of the real Rick Ross’ life. Big Sty warns that “You can’t buy your way in to heaven with the same money you sold your soul with”. Even Meek Mills gets a verbal warning. With all these wankstas running wild in the industry, I for one am okay with them being held accountable for their claims. I am certainly interested in seeing what else they have in store. As for us, we’re riding with the actual Freeway Ricky Ross on this. Though I prefer that he continues to advocate non-violence in the matter. Hip Hop does not need another black eye in the court of public opinion. Just continue to call out William and the rest of Maybach music for their misguided information and image and we are good.
