YC The Cynic drops a video for his Yuri Beats produced track “Night Thoughts”, and to be honest..I hate it. Not the song or the video for any specific reason other than that Dab Rabbit scures me. The track is dope, of course, YC is the truth. Add Yuri Beats in the mix and it gets even more fresh for you suckers and suckas. I suggest turning on all the lights in the crib before watching…just saying…..Dang you Donny Darko….dang you straight to heck….
On July 22nd, Kid Vishis is releasing Timing Is Everything. The Detroit rapper, who is also Royce Da 5’9’s younger sibling, has been making some noise recently and is poised to continue doing so with this album. The D has a much storied history when it comes to the native artists reaching the masses. Vishis looks to be no different, his sound is already polished after years spent watching his older brother make some major moves in the industry. 2014 could be the year for Kid Vishis to take his sound to the masses and make people notice once again the Motor City got skills.
Monolith Monster is an album from Theory Hazit (Scribbling Idiots) and Cream Of Beats who are known collectively as DC Comets. The project dropped in March and was met with acclaim. The last cut on the album, “Intense” is a sort of posse cut featuring Wordsworth (Lyricist Lounge/Punch & Words) and Diana Theodora joining forces lyrically with Theory. It track is exactly what you might assume with a name as such. So how does one turn up the intensity? Simple you get Dert to remix the track and you add 1/3 of the underground legion Lightheaded, Ozay Moore to the mix and the result is instantaneous intensity the likes few ever see. The video is equally as such, you watch expect some sort of torturous outcome for our victim. Though things are not always what they seem. Buy D.C. Comets Monster Monolith by clicking the link below.

YESSIR!!! Digable Planets’ debut album Reachin (A New Refutation of Time and Space), was so funky and jazzy when it dropped. This album holds up so well over time too. Easily one of my most rocked full albums still. You can just let it play from start to finish and nod your head the entire time. With names like Ladybug Mecca, Doodlebug, and Butterfly, we were not sure what to make of it at first, but we would soon be affirmed of the fact that no matter what you called them they were dope.
