Comprehensive Beatdown is 30 episodes this old this week! For this special episode, Bloggy Bonilla and Silent G listen to “Meow the Jewels,” which probably needs no introduction to our listeners. But we’ll give it to you anyway. “Meow the Jewels,” which began as a joke “bonus package” buried deep in the email announcing the varying release formats of Run the Jewels 2, came to fruition after a group of friends contributed over $40,000 to an online campaign to make Killer Mike and El-P produce the record. A wide array of guest producers were brought in to complete the project, which is a full remix of Run the Jewels 2 album, using cat sounds for the music. All proceeds from the online campaign were donated to charities that benefit the victims of police brutality.
The intro music is from “Seven Seas,” the new record from Emancipator, which dropped on September 25th.
Run out and pick up 5th Child’s EP “Child Support” now on his BandCamp page and support the child….see what I did there? New album dropping next month, you will certainly want to be the first person in your circle of influence to own it. Peace
Yea, so as some of you may know, my new album My Conversations with God will be released on October 17th. Well, I was never really into the whole GoFundMe or Kickstarter crowd-sourcing to get raise money for a project that’s not even out yet. I don’t believe in you giving me something for nothing. However, I DO believe in #ChildSupport. Here’s a 5-track EP of brand new unreleased songs to prep you for the album. It’s available by donation of however much you see fit. Drop by 5thchildmusic.com or stop me when you see me to pick up a copy. I can’t wait for y’all to hear the album, but in the meantime…5th Child presents #TheChildSupportEP

The intro music this week if from UK producer Ekoplekz.
After a quick vacation, Bloggy Bonilla and Silent G are back with Episode 26 of Comprehensive Beatdown. This week, the guys take a look back ten years to “Late Registration,” Kanye West’s second album, released August 30, 2005. “Late Registration,” released to critical acclaim and high sales, was given a boost after Kanye’s (in)famous “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people” quote at a Hurricane Katrina relief benefit just days after the album’s release. Kanye West would go on to be one of the most influential players in pop culture and remains so to this day. The guys discuss all of that and more this week as they take a listen back through one of the better albums of the early 21st century.
