I cannot bring myself to post the D’Angelo “Sometimes it Snows in April” cover. Since that’s one of my favorite songs of all time and understanding the impact that Prince had on D, it hits me right in the feelings a little too hard. It is similar to when  Stevie honored MJ with “It Never Dreamed You’d Leave In Summer”, I just cannot watch it again. Today I did feel like posting something Prince related and thought that Gregory Porter did an absolutely amazing job with his cover of “Purple Rain”. Porter has a new album coming on May 6th titled Take Me To The Alley. If the first two tracks from it are any indication, this will be yet another brilliant album.
