Bloggy Bonilla and Silent G are back with Comprehensive Beatdown Episode #21. This week, the guys take another step back into time to discuss Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, Young Jeezy’s debut album with Def Jam. Released on July 26, 2005, the album is considered by many to be a classic of the past decade, both for the Atlanta Trap genre and hip hop in general.
The guys also listen to a track from Mbongwana Star as well as the first of the “Meow The Jewels” songs from Run the Jewels.

Comprehensive Beatdown is back for episode 15 and this week Bloggy Bonilla and Silent G check out “Surf” from Donnie Trumpet and the Social Experiment, who are best known as the backing band for the Chance the Rapper. “Surf” is an eclectic debut from the band and includes a plethora of guest spots. Chance himself, who is an official member of the band, is all over the album as well. “Surf” was released as a free download on iTunes on May 28th and had over 600,000 downloads during its first week of release.
The guys also check out new tracks from Killah Priest and Ozay Moore, as well as a local track featuring several Jackson rappers, including Savvy, Doe Hicks, Hollywood Luck, Tricky LT45, Coke Bumaye.
After a week off, Bloggy Bonilla and Silent G are back for episode 12 of Comprehensive Beatdown. This week’s album, “Have a Nice Life,” is Murs’ first record since signing to Strange records in February of 2014. Murs is best known as being a former member of the Living Legends crew as well as his work with Slug (of Atmosphere) and his numerous, well-loved solo albums. The guys also check out new tracks from Camp Lo, Abstract Rude, Holly Herndon, and local track from Jackson Heavyweight PyInfamous.

Welcome back to the Comprehensive Beatdown, Episode 11. This week, Silent G and Bloggy Bonilla tackle “The Good Fight,” the newest offering from Oddisee through Mello Music Group. Oddisee handles all the production and rapping on the record, as he continues to evolve his sound as well as his lyrical acumen. Guests on the record include Maimouna Youseff, Nick Hakim, Tranqill, and Gary Clarke Jr. The guys also check out a track from the most recent Oh No & Alchemist collaboration as well as songs from the new Blueprint and Nosaj Thing records.
