In January of this year Phil Beaudreau teamed with Dawaun Parker and released Ether……the world stood still momentarily as I soaked it all in. It is a great album and deserves all the critical acclaim that came it’s way. If you have not purchased it click here. You will not be disappointed. Recently he took to covering a Jhene Aiko track, “Spotless Mind”, and KILLED IT! Not that I do not like Jhene’s version, I have not heard it, and I certainly do not need to now. SHADE.

Maimouna Youssef aka MuMu Fresh, hails from the District Of Colombia and does an incredible job with Lorde’s Grammy winning “Royals” track. She flips it up, takes ownership, and makes it beautifully uplifting. She changes up the hook and adds a rap verse at the end. She is just as talented as an emcee as she is as a vocalist. Props to Davey D for drawing attention to this song.
See Pop music can be good. Emeli Sande is an up and coming star in the music industry. He’s been co-signed by a slew of people, that matters more than ever these days. She can sing her butt off and she makes sincere music. Our Version Of Events is an amazing album and if this is any indicator, Who Needs The World, her forth coming album will be just as good. “Untouchable” featuring Ryan Michael, who is another rising singer/song writer, is what a pop song should be. Grand yet intimate, a memorable hook and self empowering in a way that would make Bey proud.
