Pharrell’s influence at Adidas is in high gear, from his bedazzled (Thanks Dart Adams) Stan Smiths worn on SNL this past weekend to this…….another Stan Smith being made available via Adidas…..and if anyone wants to argue that these are not influenced by the BBC/Ice Cream kicks, then well, whatever. Truth of the matter, they are very much in the vain of the original Ice Creams. I am not mad, I never got in to the Ice Cream kicks, but plenty of people did, although I liked the pager joints. From the 15 gallon hat (Also, thanks Dart Adams), to Happy being the song of the past year, things just keep looking up for
Skateboard P. Can we get a new N.E.R.D. album?
Finally the most wanted colorway of the Adidas Mutumbo signature shoe can be yours. Or rather MINE! I haven’t been a fan of the other colorways in this shoe, but I do happen to love this Denver Nugget scheme. I tried to track down a pic of him rocking them and finally I did, it’s water marked but whatever. It’s a very clean colorway, white leather with the royal blue accents and a touch of yellow and red as well as the traditional Congo style print. Nicely done Adidas, you got this one right.
Here are some shoes dropping this month….meh….the Concept x SB Ugly Sweater will be hard to get, for some reason….it’s hideous as it should be. Aside from the Cortez Frees and the BAIT x Saucony Shadow, I’m good. I do like the Jordan I (Banned) but I got my pair already so I’m straight…..
Sometimes a classic is a classic, no questions asked. You see it and immediately you are familiar with it, you are at ease with it. That’s the case with the Adidas Super Star, it doesn’t matter what colors they put on it, what neo-artsy fartsy graffiti writer they get to collab with it, they will always be one of the sickest shoes in the history of sneaker-lore. Here is the Super Star 2 featuring the familiar Blue/Orange colorway for the New York Knickerbockers. Sleek, stylish, even dare I say hipster friendly. I’ve always been a sucker for the natural shelltoe
Adidas trying to get the #1 shoe commercial spot. This is hilarious.
