When the Dungeon Family album dropped, the cumulative prayers of many were answered. Even In Darkness was exquisite. Goodie Mob fans heard “Excalibur” and were like ‘They are back”, having suffered through World Party. Outkast fans were like, they’re still Outkast. New comers like Bubba Sparxxx, Killer Mike, and Slimm Calhoun held their own. “6 Minutes (Dungeon Family You’re On)” is as close as we got to everyone on 1 track, it was only missing Andre 3000.
Esthero is a singer/song writer from just beyond the northern borders of the United States. Her debut album Breath From Another, was incredible. Well written and produced and her voice is so haunting. She is no stranger to the Hip-Hop scene, she recorded a track for the Slam! The Soundtrack with Goodie Mob, an alternative version to the “World I Know” track also from her debut offering. She worked on the Black Eyed Peas second album, John Forte, Last Emperor, Mos Def, and the list goes on. When Kanye was doing his 808’s and Heartbreaks album, he would often just bring Esthero into the studio to vibe off her, this led to Kanye using her as the voice of the space ship on his world tour. Esthero has yet to gain the world wide notoriety that some of her peers have achieved but she is definitely known and appreciated by those same peers.

Go to Itunes and buy this ish now, support Hippity hop and do not be a jerk for your entire life, okay? And if you want to scream and shout this isn’t a Goodie MOB record? Then you are going to be a jerk your whole life and there is nothing we can do for you. Apparently Cee-Lo and Co. decided this would be a good re-introduction of the M.O.B. to the world. The song was originally slated to be a solo song but he threw his boys on it to announce to the world who Goodie MOB is. The song is going to be the theme on NBC’s playoff basketball coverage, so it’s going to get spins. Understand the situation and know that the MOB is back and there is nothing you can do about it
Fight To Win Lyrics
Fight to win, stand up straight
No debate, pushed by hate
Concentrate, penetrate, generate
Motivate, live by faith
Keep believin, I know the reason
It’s the season, now’s the time
Keep on dreaming, keep on leading
And keep on fighting!
[Cee-lo Green]
I am fighting for the liberation
Of voices with something to say
Like many before me, for glory
You have to stand in harm’s way
I’m no savior, just a soldier
Soldier with an order
So I have no choice but to trust the God
Cause it must be done
My only fear is what might happen
If I didn’t fight to win
[Hook]
If I lose, then it was worth fighting for
If I win, I only live to fight again
If I lose, then it was worth dying for
If I win, I only live to fight again
Who are? We are, they are too
Cant turn the turn the, too far?
Fight, fight, fight
You should be proud for the courage
The courage to think out loud
You’ll find your way if you’re foolish enough to be faithful
Believe me, it wont be easy
But it’s surely not impossible
And if they won’t listen
Save your breath and save yourself
And as soon as you see sunlight again
Get up and fight to win!
[Hook]
Til your presence felt, fight
Til your last breath, fight
For your spirit,f or your mind, fight
For your soul, fight
Never lose sight
Keep up the fight
When all fails and you done tried everything in life, fight
Keep ya head up
Atlanta was to Hip Hop in the mid 90s what Detroit is to Hip Hop now. Fresh, raw and carving it’s own lane in music. When Outkast and Goodie Mob came together on “Black Ice” off of Goodie’s Still Standing it was like destiny manifested in song. Everyone rips it from beginning to end, with each verse getting better. I remember seeing the video and thinking that Astros jersey was so dope. Soon after the retro jersey thing took off. I can’t remember the name of the store in Atlanta that specialized in it. But, I remember spending a little bit of money on a few Mitchell & Ness jerseys through them. DISTANT REPLAY thats the name. Anyway, sit back and enjoy some good old fashion lyrical athleticism…
Classic cut off One Day It Will All Make Sense featuring Goodie MOB member and F*** You crooner, Cee-Lo Green.
“Let me voice my concern, so many of my fellow brothers have given themselves a title that their actions didn’t earn. Our ignorance is in the same breath as innocence, subconsciously seeking an impressionable mind to convince. I finally come to the realization why black people are in the worse place, cause it’s hard to correct yourself when you don’t know who you are in the first place. I try to find a clue in you but evidently white folk know more history that we do. Why are we being lied to, I didn’t know our history was being purposely hidden. Damn, started making me want to know who I am. So I began my search, my journey started in church. It gave my heartache relief when I started to understand belief. Hustlin’ was like a gift spent my share of time in the streets. Taught me survival from this evil I’m just gonna have to deal with. And I felt like a fool when I tried to learn it in school. It almost seemed like a rehearsal when the only Science and math are universal. Takin elder advice, read the Bible, the Koran. Searched scrolls from the Hebrew Israelites. Hold on, this ain’t right, Jesus wasn’t White. Some leads were granted with insight and it’s all in the plan, but it took me some time to overstand. He still created with the imperfection of man. So, with followin’ I disagree. By no means have I forgotten or forgiven what’s been done to me but I do know the Devil ain’t no White man, the Devil’s a spiritual mind That’s color blind, there’s evil White folk and evil n****s. You gone surely find there’s no positivity without negativity. But one side you gonna have to choose
Any chance to speak I refuse to misuse. So how can you call yourself God when you let a worldly possession become an obsession and the way you write your rhymes and
Can’t follow your lesson. If a seed’s sown, you make sure it’s known, you make sure it’s grown. If you God, then save your own, don’t mentally enslave your own. If you God, then save your own, don’t mentally enslave your own. If you God, then save your own, don’t mentally enslave your own” – Cee-Lo Green
