Skyzoo and Torae have recorded plenty of music together over the years, now they have come together to bring the world The Barrel Brothers. An album of non-stop hip-hop bangers only the way the duo can provide. The album dropped on May 27th, and the newest leak from the project, “All In Together” features another rap conglomerate, Random Axe, Sean Price and Guilty Simpson add vocal assistance over a beat provided by Black Milk. The track sounds like some Reasonable Doubt era Ski production, with the quadruplet of emcees drop bars upon bars. If you support hip-hop music on a whole then put your money where your mouth is and pick up The Barrel Brothers, below at the link.
For an artist to hold his own with a veteran like Guilty Simpson on a track is impressive to say the least. When that artist shines on the same track with a vet like Guilty, that’s something else. Hus Kingpin has been making some noise the last couple years, starting overseas and then back in the states with some support from Mello Music Group. “Time is Runnin’ Out” is the latest track from Hus and follows up the release of his Hus Kingpin Meets Pro Era, with producer Chuck Strangers. You can pick up the project below. “Time Is Runnin’ Out” follows the classic hip hop formula, a couple of dope emcees over some boom bap production, provided by M.W.P., and a simple hook. Enjoy.
Gensu Dean and Apollo Brown have a new remix project coming out on Mello Music Group. The premise behind the album is that both producers take songs from the others collaborative works last year and re-work them. Dean takes tracks from Apollo Brown & Guilty Simpson‘s collaborative effort Dice Game and Brown will take songs from Gensu Dean & Planet Asia‘s Abrasions. The result is one project with two sides: Abrasions: Stitched Up and Dice Game: Shaken coming out January 14, 2014.
