LeSean McCoy (seen above dicing the Dallas Cowboys for 185 yds and 2 scores) has agreed to a 5 year extension worth reportedly 45 million dollars. The signing insures McCoy, one of the league’s best running backs for the past 2 seasons and is the anchor of a very young and explosive core of offensive players. A Pro Bowl and All-Pro in 2011, he led the league in first downs, and was the 4th leading rusher. McCoy said “I love this team, and I’m kind of a hometown kid from Harrisburg which is like an hour and a half away”. The Eagles bolstered their defense in the draft and grabbed Demetrius Bell to sub in for the injured Jason Peters. They also locked up DeSean Jackson through 2016 and LeSean now through 2017. They drafted Nick Foles out of Arizona in the 3rd round, a potential Mike Vick replacement in long-term goals. They picked up DeMeco Ryans, in a trade with Houston, toshore up a glaring gap in the middle of the defense. It’s looking like not only 2012 but also the next several years will see the Eagles as a very serious and dangerous contender.
