Bloggy Bonilla and Silent G are back with Episode #22 of Comprehensive Beatdown, this week covering “Time Astonishing,” the collaborative album between producer L’Orange and legendary rapper Kool Keith. “Time Astonishing,” released by Mello Music Group on July 24th, mixes L’Orange’s signature beat-making style with the otherworldly raps of Kool Keith and a healthy dose of B-movie samples and science fiction themes to create a trippy record about space travel and physics. It’s heavy and fun at the same time.
The guys also check out a track off the new Romare album as well as brand new songs from friends of the podcast Marcel P. Black and PyInfamous.

As Black Milk prepares to bring the world If There’s A Hell Below, the coldest emcee PyInfamous grabs some Synth Or Soul and announces his return from a short hiatus. On “WANW” Py brings us two minutes of straight lyrical snapping. #Jackals
If you are not up on PyInfamous, then simply click here and check out his resume, it’s quite stellar.
PyInfamous, is not only one of the coldest emcees and a rapper’s rapper, but he is also the subject of of The Turnup Sessions third volume. PyInfamous talks to the Turnup guys about his inspiration and musical influences in between snippets of his songs “Praise” and “New Life”. Both selections are taken from PyInfamous’ last release Final Discussion, produced entirely by Sam.I.Am The Son. I think they read my mind, because these two tracks are my personal favorites on the album. Soulful and introspective, which is usually a prerequisite when it comes to my personal tastes in music. PyInfamous might be familiar to you as he was Coors Light’s Coldest Emcee a short time ago, recognized by his live performance and given the chance to open up some shows for N.E.R.D. as a result.
Not even DJ Young Venom is safe from James Crow’s official, unOfficial video for this Jackson, MS Anthem……in all seriousness if you haven’t done it yet, download this damn track.
This past Sunday at Dreamz in Jackson, Kamikaze rounded up his fellow emcees from 5th Child’s “Crew Joint” for a special performance. James Crow, PyInfamous, Skipp Coon, 5th Child and Kamikaze take the stage together to catch wreck. I wasn’t able to get away from the family who were in town for a week, thankfully Street Official TV was in the spot and caught it on film. Some of Jackson’s biggest and brightest emcees get together and spit some bars to warm the crowd up then tear the roof off with their live rendition of the 5th Child produced banger. Below you can download the track which also features Coke Bumaye and the newly signed, to Mello Music Group, 7even:Thirty. Jackson definitely has the talent to make some noise on a larger scale within the Hip-Hop scene.
One week ago, this evening, the Jackals, a group of emcees reppin’ Jackson, Mississippi, took the stage at Dreamz. Their mission, to prove that the Jackals indeed rap better than you….Mission accomplished as Skipp Coon, PyInfamous, Coke Bumaye, Saddi Sundiata, & Ahmad Rashad each took turns proving their each individual skill set. I recorded it on my IPhone, so if you don’t like it…….sue me……
Raps and Raps and Raps and Raps…….These Mississippi emcees got bars…..Kamikaze, James Crow, PyInfamous, Skipp Coon, Coke Bumaye, 5th Child, & 7even:Thirty with cuts by DJ Young Venom, known across the town as “Mr Show You How That Mixer Work”. Mississippi is a motherfunkin’ problem…..just listen to the hook……..
