El De Menace, the black John McClane, and the water-proof Emcee would have been one hell of a super group. Ras Kass was lyrically murdering cats, Saafir was an emcee’s emcee, and Xzibit had the voice and charisma. What would have happened would have been epic, however, Priority Records……….We can only sit back and wonder what could have happened? Would it have been enough for Xzibit’s Open Bar record label to gain some ground and influence? Would it have affected his career at MTV with “Pimp my Ride”? “Bounce, Rock, Golden State” – From the Training Day soundtrack

And with production and remixes from Hip Hop heavy weights, his sophomore release Rasassination highly anticipated. Then it dropped, as it seemed like Ras went 180. The production was lacking as a whole, the album was not cohesive. It felt forced, nobody was more disappointed than me. I had destroyed a couple copies of Soul On Ice from playing them so much. And to this day, the Diamond D, “Soul On Ice” remix stays in heavy rotation. The saving graces on Rasassination for me were “H2O Proof” & the half hour long “Interview With A Vamptire”……….so here you goooooooo
