Sundance and Illect Recordings are preparing to bring the world Midlife Marauders on June 17th. The latest nugget comes complete with assistance from Propaganda, Wonder Brown, Cas Metah, Elias, KJ-52, JGivens, and Khadia Che. It’s a funky melancholy sounding track dedicated to the girl we all used to love. We still love her but she’s getting pimped by those who do not know her past and never prospered from her “golden era”. We hear a lot going on about mainstream rap music, but truthfully it could not be further from hip-hop. I guess we need a clear cut separation of the two.

Monolith MonsterĀ is an album from Theory Hazit (Scribbling Idiots) and Cream Of Beats who are known collectively as DC Comets. The project dropped in March and was met with acclaim. The last cut on the album, “Intense” is a sort of posse cut featuring Wordsworth (Lyricist Lounge/Punch & Words) and Diana Theodora joining forces lyrically with Theory. It track is exactly what you might assume with a name as such. So how does one turn up the intensity? Simple you get Dert to remix the track and you add 1/3 of the underground legion Lightheaded, Ozay Moore to the mix and the result is instantaneous intensity the likes few ever see. The video is equally as such, you watch expect some sort of torturous outcome for our victim. Though things are not always what they seem. Buy D.C. Comets Monster Monolith by clicking the link below.
Theory Hazit is releasing Fall Of The Light Bearer this summer and you are going to want to cop it. “Watch Out” is the first video from the Scribbling Idiot’s project and comes complete with some Mrs Hill vocals. “Watch Out” consists of everything we’ve come to appreciate from Theory, honesty, wordplay, complexity, it’s all there. This has that summertime feel to it, you are going to want to be bumping this in your jeeps this summer.
Cas Metah of the Scribbling Idiots crew throws up his W in the air and calls upon Shabazz The Disciple and Hell Razah known now as Heaven Razah on his newest track “A Stone’s Throw” out now via Illect Recordings. Shabazz and Razah are known as 2/3’s of the group T.H.U.G. Angelz, with Ayatollah. The nod factor on this one is a 17 on a scale of 1-10. Produced by Theory Hazit with cuts from EF Cuttin and Mista Sinista (X-ecutioners). Cas Metah has been making some really solid contributions in the hip-hop realm for a while now. I dig this collaboration and Theory Hazit is really developing as a producer. He is adding a lot of polish and variety to his tracks. The difference between a beat maker and a producer is world’s apart sonically.
“A Sinner’s death is a stone’s throw away”.

Less than a week away from the release of Scribbling Idiots Invitation Only on Illect Recordings. They have been dropping tracks from the project leading up to it’s formal release on March 11th. “Victorious” features lyrical darts from Redcloud, Cas Metah, Playdough, Sojourn, Manchild, and Jurny Big slung over Theory Hazit production. That’s an all-star line up for your weak butt! SO much rappity rap that you’ll need to rewind it 28 times just to process everything. It took me 10 times just to digest Redcloud’s verse. “Kick a Mormon is the chest for knocking on my door”…WHAT!
As March 11th gets closer and closer, the Scribbling Idiots keep blessing us with new tracks fromĀ Invitation Only. This one teams up Theory Hazit and JustMe with KJ52. They all hold their own over Theory’s production with EF Cuttin slicing up the hook. Theory Hazit spits one of the dopest verses I’ve heard in a minute. He’s easily one of my favorite emcees doing it right now, if you don’t know, do some research and find out. Illect Recordings even did a mixtape, on an actual tape, by DJ Aslan.
“5%ers call me 85 / Ocho Cinco with a lazy eye / I bring the pain so hard / Man you can’t wait to die” – (c) Theory Hazit

Another track from the Scribbling Idiots‘ new album Invitation Only droppingĀ on March 11th via Illect Recordings. “Pass It” features S.I. crew members JustMe & muzeONE and special guests Freddie Bruno (Deep Space 5), Jurny Big (LPG), Griffin and E.F. Cuttin on the cuts. Production handled by Sojourn (Future Shock/Tunnel Rat). Can’t wait for this album to drop. There is going to be a mixtape version of the entire album released only on cassette, mixed by DJ Aslan. Really looking forward to that as well.
On “Old Heads”, Wonder Brown, muzeONE of the Scribbling Idiots team up with BlackBolt to drop verses speaking on the current state of Hip-Hop and it’s connection to the old school. The boom bap is provided by Re:Flex the Architect. The lack of respect and recognition for the pioneers is what cripples the new cats. Show respect to the architects. “Old Heads” is the first single from their forthcoming album Invitation Only which drops on March 11th on Illect Recordings. The album features guest lyricists like Theory Hazit, Freddie Bruno, Sundance, ManChild, Listener, and many more. The guest artists reads like a all-star lineup. They even got DJ Aslan, EF Cuttin dicin’ stuff up on the uno’s and dos’. You can even cop a mixtape version of the the album from DJ Aslan on cassette. JustMe (Scribbling Idiots) links up with Deacon The Villain for some hip hop martial arts. Deacon provides the instrumental back drop and hook on JustMe’s verbal onslaught. If you do not have Full Disclosure from JustMe and Illect Recordings you should check it out. It’s worth the investment. It helped me get through some tough times over the past year. I can’t wait to hear what Illect has in store with his next release.
