The Texas Rangers made a surprise draft pick today and selected Seattle Seahawks Quarterback, Russell Wilson in the Rule 5 draft. Wilson, who has been drafted now 3 different times, and before being drafted by the Seahawks he played a couple of seasons in the Colorado Rockies farm system. Nobody expects Wilson to give up his NFL career to play in the Bigs, but I’m sure we can see him playing some baseball next spring.
Well, who would have thunk it? I certainly didn’t, I mean I expected the Giants and Rangers to have good seasons but World Series opponents? Not so much. I can’t say I’m upset with it though, I despise the Yankees and I love the fact that the Giants could get World Series rings without cheater Barry Bonds. I hope he’s crying himself to sleep on his huge pillow for his huge head. Much to my friend Johan’s dismay I think I’ll be rooting for the Rangers a little more. Nolan Ryan was always a favorite of mine growing up and going through the whole A-Rod thing and rebuilding to this is a great story to me. Not to mention Josh Hamilton’s story. Either way, I hope it’s a great series and who ever wins, I will be happy…..
